Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information MemoriesBack (“we”, “us”), operated by Jiansheng Jiang, collects when you use the website at https://memoriesback.com (the “Service”). The short version: your photos, videos and export files are processed on your own device, inside your browser, and are never uploaded to us.
1. Your files stay on your device
- When you select your Snapchat “Download My Data” export, the Service reads it with code running in your browser. Repairing dates and locations, merging caption/sticker overlays, and building the result ZIP all happen locally.
- We do not receive, store or have access to your photos, videos, captions, location data or the JSON files inside your export.
- The Service does not log in to Snapchat, does not ask for your Snapchat username or password, and does not download anything from Snapchat servers. It only works with files you have already downloaded yourself.
- The result ZIP is created in your browser and saved wherever you choose. We never see it.
2. Information we do collect

| Anonymous usage events: page visits (referring site, campaign tags, desktop or mobile, browser family), and steps such as “export selected”, “free repair finished” or “checkout started”, with rounded counts and size ranges (for example “51–500 items”) and your country as reported by our host. No cookies, no IP address stored, no user ID, and nothing from your files (no file names, contents, dates or locations). We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not run advertising trackers.
3. Payments: Creem as Merchant of Record
Purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record and reseller for orders. Creem collects and processes your payment information under its own privacy policy and terms. When you check out, you are providing payment data to Creem, not to us. Creem shares with us the limited order details listed above so we can deliver your unlock.
4. Data stored in your browser
The Service uses your browser’s local storage to remember how many free items you have processed and whether this browser is unlocked (an unlock token). This information stays on your device. Clearing your site data removes it; you can restore a purchase with the license key from your receipt email.
5. How long we keep information
- Order and license records: as long as needed to provide your unlock, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- Support emails: up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Hosting logs and analytics: according to the retention settings of those providers, which are short-term and aggregate where possible.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, other U.S. states, the EU/EEA or the UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email [email protected] and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. For payment data held by Creem, you can also contact Creem directly. You will not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. International processing
Our service providers may process the limited information described above in the United States and other countries. Your export files are not transferred anywhere, because they never leave your device.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because your files are processed locally, the main protection for them is the security of your own device and browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep the information we hold to the minimum described above.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
